Rumoured to have sunk ships and throttled sharks, a mythical creature found in the deep Pacific Ocean off Japan and Alaska will call Melbourne Aquarium its home from June 2010.

These amazing animals will fascinate visitors with their intelligence and strength, displaying characteristics making them the subject of countless stories and underwater fantasies.

These school holidays, the myth will be uncovered as visitors have the opportunity to get up close and personal, learning the truth about these underwater animals, as well as some of their surprising cousins.
