Leonardo Da Vinci ‘Anatomy to Robots’ Exhibition

Leonardo Da Vinci ‘Anatomy to Robots’ Exhibition

On 17 October 2009, the World Premiere of the extraordinary Leonardo Da Vinci ‘Anatomy to Robots’ Exhibition opens in Melbourne

One of the world’s greatest artists and engineers of all time, Leonardo Da Vinci was born with an insatiable desire for knowledge. At a young age he declared “Experience will be my mistress”, and throughout his life he pushed the boundaries of experience, becoming a master in his passionate understanding of Nature, Science and Art.

Direct from Italy, this fascinating, and often controversial exhibition features life-size, three-dimensional anatomical models and interactive machines, all faithfully reproduced from Da Vinci’s original manuscripts (Codex) and includes his 15th century mechanical man – the 1st robot!

In another world first – Italian Master of Fresco, Antonio de Vito explores the secrets and puzzles that bedeviled Leonardo. Witness live as he recreates on-site, a life size reconstruction of ‘The Last Supper’ and reveals for us, the amazing background and tragic outcomes of the ‘Battle of Anghiari’ fresco known for 500 years as ‘The Lost Leonardo’. Visitors will be able to view reproductions of Leonardo’s paintings including his most famous of all - ‘Mona Lisa’ - viewed each year at the Louvre by over 6 million visitors.
