Sex and the City

Sex and the City

For centuries, men and women have thought about, talked about, and stressed about sex. People have wondered about it, wanted it and done it for generations. It is without question one of the biggest religions in Melbourne today.

And yet when it comes to sex, the church has been strangely silent. This is tragic - because the Bible is full of great reflections and practical advice when it comes to relationships, singleness and dating, intimacy, marriage - and sex.

Starting November 9, Docklands Church will kick off a new and exciting series called Sex and the City. We will be journeying through the Bible’s love story, Song of Songs, where we will discover the provocative story of a King and a Princess, a lover and a peasant.

Whether you’re single or married, in love or out of love, we’d love you to join us at Docklands Church on Sundays at 10.30am - or at our new time of 6pm.  Our services are held upstairs at James Squire Brewhouse, Waterfront City and are open to people of all ages and backgrounds.

The launch of the new series and our evening service will coincide with our first birthday.  It has been an amazing 12 months for Docklands Church; our weekly service has grown dramatically and we have seen amazing miracles, friendships formed and community initiatives birthed.

One such initiative has been the ‘Off Ramp Café.’ This fortnightly get together takes place every second Wednesday at the Hub in Docklands, and is a great way for people to take time out from their busy lives, grab a coffee and talk about life, work, family, spirituality - or anything else that grabs your interest.  Roslyn Harper and Heather Crow head it up and have found it to be great way to connect with people in the community.

As a church we are big on connection. Our dream is that Docklands will be a place where people connect with the local area, connect with each other and ultimately connect with God in a real and authentic way, and all of our programs are geared around these goals. That’s also why we like talking about the real-life stuff happening around us - like the stock market, spirituality, the stresses of modern life, sin, social justice - or sex.

If you’d like to talk about these things, come and join us; we look forward to meeting you soon!
