Be the first to see the Calendar Girls and show your support for the Leukaemia Foundation, the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients living with blood cancers.
The final dress rehearsal charity performance on June 16 at the Comedy Theatre will give Melbourne audiences the first chance to see the stage show featuring an all-star cast: Lorraine Bayly, Rachel Berger, Rhonda Burchmore, Cornelia Frances, Jean Kittson, Anna Lee and Amanda Muggleton.
All proceeds from the charity performance will support the Leukaemia Foundation’s Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
Calendar Girls tells an uplifting and inspiring true story that is poignant and hilarious. It is based on the true story of a group of middle-aged English women who posed for a nude charity calendar when friend, Angela Baker, lost her husband to lymphoma. Their story also inspired a feature film of the same name starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.
“The original Calendar Girls created a media storm when they posed nude to create a charity calendar. Twelve years on, they have raised over $1.5 million for leukaemia and lymphoma research in the UK,” said Stephanie.
