The L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) returns to Central Pier, Docklands for a second year to host the 2009 Festival taking place from March 15 – 22.

In 2008 over 360,000 people attended 100 events and activities and contributed an impact of $62.5 million to the Australian economy. Festival Director Karen Webster comments, “The 2009 L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival will once again take over Melbourne, continuing its dominance as Australia’s largest and most successful consumer fashion event.”
Proving that the LMFF is a world class event, the inimitable J. Alexander, global fashion icon, model, television personality and runway coach will come to Melbourne as a special guest VIP of the Festival and will attend several events. “This is yet another testament to the global relevance of our event” noted Festival Director Karen Webster.

Known for his role as runway coach and judge on America’s Next Top Model (Network Ten and Foxtel), Alexander began his career gracing the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier in New York City. After a modelling stint in Tokyo, he eventually decided to settle in Paris and since 1991, is a preferred contact for casting and coaching runway models for well-known designers, including Valentino, Galliano, Bill Blass, Alexander McQueen, Chanel and Nina Ricci.
Commenting on his first visit to Melbourne, Alexander said, ‘I am excited about this opportunity to experience the glamour and excitement of the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival. It promises to be the perfect introduction into the Australian fashion industry.”
