3008docklands magazine talks to Channel 7 News presenter Rebecca Maddern about life, love and the Docklands…
What made you choose the Docklands as a place to live?
My fiancé, James, works in Geelong (James Wilson, owner of Wilsons, a real estate agency in Geelong) … so the Docklands location is good for his work and great for mine! Our choice was driven by practicality, but now we have moved in we have realised there is so much more to the Docklands area. Every month something new and exciting is happening!. Love the
firework shows that have been put on here… they were an unexpected bonus.
Favourite place to eat in the Docklands?
Mecca Bah has to be one of my favourites. We are so lucky in the Docklands, there is such great variety. If you wanted, you could eat food from every country each night of the week!
What’s your favourite way to spend your free time/weekends?
Whenever I get spare time I love trying new hidden treasures of the precinct. The South Melbourne Market is a regular hangout and, of course, I try to get to the gym.
Favourite sculpture in Docklands?
The ‘Blow Hole’ is my personal favourite, it looks different all the time.
Most memorable moments reading the news?
During my time as a presenter on TV I have had some unforgettable
experiences, such as presenting some really big national and international events like the London and Bali bombings, the death of the Pope, the ‘Bali Nine’, Shapelle Corby’s case and the tsunami in Asia.
