The 2009 Melbourne Stitches & Craft Show

The country’s longest running craft event, The Stitches & Craft Show, set for a resurgence when it heads to Melbourne in 2009 as the increased gloom surrounding the economy means some Australian’s are seeking the quality and the story behind ‘Handmade’, while shying away from mass-production in an effort to save money and the environment.

The 2009 Stitches & Craft Show is for the first time is part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Cultural Program, the unique and exceptional event that celebrates fashion, thereby recognising The Stitches & Craft Show as a hub of creative expression.

This year’s inspirational show will also see a dramatic increase in retailers, workshops and activities for the contemporary and traditional crafter, with the events showcasing the best quality craft, urban design, art, fashion and creative ideas from Australia and abroad.

The Stitches & Craft Show brings more than 200 retailers together under one roof, and presents fashion parades and demonstrations to show how age-old craft techniques are influencing the most cutting-edge fashion and lifestyle trends.
