From Mumbai to Melbourne

The name AZIZA means cherished, powerful and beloved - the perfect word to encapsulate all that AZIZA DESIGNS has to offer. This stylish and sophisticated emporium has arrived in Australia and is set to make its mark on our interior design industry.

Designers, architects and home decorators now have a stunning new location in Melbourne from which to source the very best design elements the sub-continent has to offer.

In today's world of mass production, sourcing timeless pieces that are unique is a difficult challenge, which is why interior and architectural designers will celebrate AZIZA DESIGNS - at last, something new to offer clients! Based in South Melbourne, this extraordinary business specialises in architectural stone and marble in addition to offering an eclectic range of decorative products - from exquisitely crafted antique household items such as brass water flasks to dowry boxes and furniture. AZIZA DESIGNS gives clients the unique possibility of hand crafted stone architectural structures created to their individual design specifications. There are also inspired collectables such as grand ancient doors that hint of a mysterious past and intricate carved horses. Staff will not only help with all design needs, but can provide custom made stone and marble to exact specifications.

AZIZA DESIGNS is the brainchild of Lulu Extonpery and Jo Tucker (nee Rippon) who met many moons ago on a beach in India - a chance meeting that marked the beginning of a blossoming friendship and a mutual love of the country, its culture and its people. Over the years, the pair kept in touch as they went their separate ways and pursued different careers.

Lulu and Jo, along with co-directors and collaborators well known Australian actor Gil Tucker and Salim Sheikh have now created a distinctive destination for some of the most exquisite items from around the globe. Salim is on the ground in India and is Head of Purchasing and Design.

Lulu set up the famous Lulu's Cafe in Mullumbimby and then the retail emporium, Wax Jambu in Bangalow, northern New South Wales, a business which bought together the best of beautiful imports and items from around the world. Lulu left Australia to make India her home. She built and managed a Hotel in Rajasthan and travelled the country sourcing interesting and unique pieces.

Jo developed a long-standing career as a casting consultant working in television and media, casting TV dramas and documentaries. She has worked hard to establish herself in the industry and is now moving into a new and exciting direction.

Now, time and good fortune has brought these two friends together again. The combined talents and experience of the Aziza Team has resulted in the beautiful venture that is AZIZA DESIGNS.
