Melbourne Day at Docklands - Happy 175th Birthday Melbourne!!

Melbourne Day at Docklands - Happy 175th Birthday Melbourne!!

Monday 30 August marks an important day in Melbourne\'s history. It was on this day in 1835 that the first European settlers landed on the Northern banks of the Yarra River and started a settlement.

From its humble beginnings, Melbourne today is brimming with vibrant energy;
a place of cosmopolitan restaurants, fashion boutiques, cafe -filled laneways, bars, galleries world class sporting events and expansive parks. There is no better place to reflect on how far Melbourne has come than at Docklands.

In contrast with Docklands\' modern surroundings, residents can take a step back into the past and visit the Enterprize. A replica of the two masted, topsail schooner Enterprize that brought the first Europeans across the Bass Strait,
will be docked at Waterfront City.

The striking Enterprize has been painstakingly recreated as close to the original as possible. For Melbourne Day, the impressive Enterprize will open its gangway to the public. Take a free tour on board the famous schooner and learn about life on the sea, 19th century style.

Melbourne Day celebrations will light up Docklands and the city, with many Melbourne Day specials including free entry to Black Light Mini-Golf and two-for-one entry at Wonderland Fun Park at Harbour Town. Pick up a Melbourne Day Attractions Program or download the vouchers at www.thatsmelbourne.com.au.
