Planning Open Space for The Future Residents Have Your Say

Planning Open Space for The Future Residents Have Your Say

Docklands residents are being asked to tell the City of Melbourne what they think about parks, gardens and reserves as part of the first municipality-wide open space strategy.

The ten-year strategy will address issues such as climate-change and population growth to ensure that public open space throughout the municipality is planned, developed and managed sustainably.

Residents are asked to complete a reply-paid questionnaire, which asks about the places people visit, why they value them, and any suggestions for improvement. Responses close at 5pm on Monday 30 August. Everyone who submits a response in time and includes their contact details also goes into the
draw to win great prizes, including:

• a $200 voucher to Gingerboy restaurant
• one of four $50 Readings vouchers
• a family pass to Melbourne Imax
• one of two family passes to a Melbourne Victory game
• a three-month pass to the City of Melbourne Baths

The draft strategy is expected to be released for public comment between July and August 2011. The final plan will then be released in December 2011.
To receive a copy of the questionnaire call Town Hall on 03 9658 9658 to request one or pop in to pick one up. For more information about the open space strategy check the website:
