The first round of grants for the arts, community services, and sports and recreation opens this month enabling successful applicants to deliver quality programs, events, products and services that create significant social and economic returns as well as cultural and artistic benefits.

Applications open Monday 17 May for projects completed in 2011 and close
at 5.30pm on Friday 25 June 2010.

Grant categories:
•Active Melbourne Sport and Recreation Grants assist local community sporting groups and individuals with projects relating to physical activity.

•Arts Grants are available to individuals, groups and organisations to help enliven the city with diverse and cultural activities that challenge and engage the community.

•Community Services Grants support not-for-profit community organisations that encourage a safe, healthy, inclusive and engaged society.
Applications that reflect creativity, inclusion, sustainability, knowledge and economic prosperity are encouraged.
