Join the fun and stimulate your intellect, imagination and tastebuds as you dine out in Docklands each month with like minded people as part of the Docklands Dinner Book Club.
Organised through the Council of Adult Education (CAE) and subsidised by the Melbourne Library Service, the Docklands Dinner Book Club allows people to get together to discuss selected books while sampling some of the great restaurants and cuisine on offer within the Docklands Precinct.
The books are chosen by the group from a broad catalogue of 1000 titles ranging from classics to the latest new releases. Each member selects fifteen books of interest which are then checked against availability via the library lending program. Although not everyone’s book will necessarily be chosen during the duration of the course all parties reap the benefits of reading the same book, actively discussing it and enjoying the added dimension of a night out socialising.
The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the HYPERLINK “mailto:Hub@Docklands” \o “blocked::mailto:Hub@Docklands” Hub at Docklands at 7pm and heads off to the restaurant of choice for that month. The book group runs over a period of around six months but you can join at any time and pay on a pro rata basis. The cost for the full course which includes seven meetings, six books, all reading guides and notes accessed from the CAE is $62. Dinner costs are additional.
