Every hour, someone in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood disorder.
Every two hours, someone dies from one of these diseases. Blood cancer is also Australia\'s second biggest cancer killer.
You can help change these statistics. The Leukaemia Foundation is urging Victorians to support Light the Night, an inspiring event to remember, celebrate and give hope to people living with blood cancers, and their families. In the weeks leading up to the events, registrants raise funds for blood cancer research and free support services to support patients and their families.
The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients living with blood cancers. The Leukaemia Foundation relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses and raises much needed funds through events such as Light the Night in order to support patients and families. Please refer to the flyer in this issue of 3008 for further event information.
Ask family, friends and work colleagues to gather at twilight to carry balloons with a tiny light inside:
• Gold to REMEMBER a loved one
• White to CELEBRATE survivors
• Blue to GIVE HOPE, raising funds
for research and free services.
