For members of the Docklands Community that were unable to attend the recent Second Decade of Docklands project, Community Future Docklands Forum we have included the feedback from the event provided to 3008 Docklands Magazine courtesy of the City of Melbourne.

We will always advise our readers of upcoming forums and community discussions to allow you the opportunity to have your say on the future of this vibrant and constantly evolving community.

THE SECOND DECADE OF DOCKLANDS PROJECT HAS BEEN STRUCTURED INTO THREE PHASES:
Phase one
focussing the discussion around emerging themes, phase one is about researching the community\'s views and aspirations to validate Docklands vision.

Phase two
this phase will seek to prioritise key issues and opportunities identified in phase one to inform the development of clear directions and priority actions for delivery over the second decade.

Phase three
public review and comment on draft Second Decade of Docklands plan.

SOME FEEDBACK FROM THE EVENING INCLUDED:
• 93 per cent of particpants said the forum was excellent (69%)
or good (23%)
• 100 per cent of participants said they felt comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas

WHAT YOU\'RE WANTING TO SEE:
• Events and attractions that make best use of Docklands harbour side location
• Activities for existing and future residents to increase community participation
• Opportunities to create more connections between Docklands and the city
• More diverse people living, working and visiting Docklands by making it more affordable and accessible
• Less concrete and more personable and inviting open spaces. So how will the information from the forum be used? During phase one of the project, which ran until the end of August, the gathering of ideas and issues big and small from the community and other stakeholders will help to identify clear directions and priority actions for delivery in Docklands. After phase one, City of Melbourne and VicUrban will report back in more detail the findings from all of their engagement activities. During phase two, we\'ll engage with you again around a shared vision and options for some initial ideas that have been proposed through the consultation.
