Business3000 Presents The Human Lie Detector Steven Van Aperen

Imagine being able to tell whether the person across the negotiating table is attempting to deceive you, distort the truth or blatantly lie.

Steven Van Aperen, Director of Australian Polygraph testing, trained by the LA Police Department, the US Secret Service and the FBI, is an expert in detecting deception and you have the opportunity this August to gain an insight into his fascinating world.

Throughout his career, Steven has conducted hundreds of interviews, ranging from homicide cases to pre-employment screening, enabling him to uncover the truth behind some of the most intricate deceptions worldwide. His knowledge and experience in behavioural analysis, interview techniques and polygraph testing are highly sought after by the media, HR and recruitment sectors, financial and banking services, government departments and the corporate sector.

Steven has lead a number of high profile cases, including the McDonalds McScratch & Win competition where a number of contestants unlawfully claimed prizes, and the Mike Scrafton case, a senior government advisor, regarding a private phone conversation held with the then Prime Minister John Howard in relation to the Children Overboard scandal.

Drawing on real life examples, Steven Van Aperen will demonstrate how to recognise lies and deception by observing signals through body language, eye contact and expression.

The average person lies between 12-15 times a day, learn how to tell when someone is lying to you in a professional environment, personally or publically, uncover the truth and develop vital skills that could advance your business, bookings are essential.
